The Threadbare Heart Mother’s Day Contest

Author Jennie Nash is hosting a blog tour contest to promote her latest book, The Threadbare Heart, due to be released May 4, 2010.

Next week, Write It Sideways will be participating in Jennie’s Mother’s Day Contest, which you can enter by writing a mini-essay on your favourite fictional mother/daughter duo.

Start thinking about:

[W]hich fictional mother-daughter pair made you laugh? Made you cry? Made you cringe? Which pair revealed something true about your own mother-daughter relationships?

Click here to read the contest rules for your chance to win great prizes including “a ‘Book Club in a Box,’ ten signed copies of The Threadbare Heart, a call-in from the author, and a delicious rum cake to share with your book-reading friends.”

In early May, I’ll be posting an interview with Jennie Nash, and reviewing her book, The Threadbare Heart.

Writer Unboxed Contributor Finalists

Recently, Writer Unboxed–a blog written by several published novelists–disclosed that they were looking for an unpublished writer to become a regular contributor.

Out of over a hundred applications, I made the list of list of finalists, which means I’ll be guest posting at Writer Unboxed twice a year.

Congratulations to Jan O’Hara of Tartitude who made the final cut!

Guest Contributions Re-cap

I was thrilled to be invited as one of four inaugural contributors to Zen Family Habits–sister site of well-known blogger Leo Babauta’s Zen Habits–which launched late last year.

The 6-month schedule to which the other contributors and I committed has now come to an end, and the next round of writers will begin soon.

I’ve really enjoyed my time writing about education and learning for Zen Family Habits. If you’re interested, check out some of my featured articles:
