Write It Sideways Happenings, August 2010

July 30, 2010 Suzannah Windsor Freeman Filed Under: Site News

I know it’s a bit early for an August news post, but my editorial calendar seems to have been so full lately, I haven’t had a chance to update you on where I am, how I’m doing, and what’s coming soon here at Write It Sideways.

The Comforts of Home

Two weeks ago, my husband, children, and I flew from Australia to Canada to visit my family for six weeks.

The photo above is one I took standing in my mother’s garden, which overlooks Lake Superior. The view here is incredible–a fantastic place to let loose one’s writerly mind.

We’re stoked for the rest of our stay here, and I plan to post more photos in the next week or so.

What Should I Write About?

Last month, I received two emails from different readers which basically asked the same question: what should I write about?

I’ve been mulling this over in my mind for a couple of weeks, and I plan to post an article on this in the next week or so. I wanted to let you know in advance because this is something a lot of aspiring writers struggle with.

I’m really looking forward to seeing other readers’ responses of their own advice and experience.

Interview with Jody Hedlund

Soon-to-be-published debut author Jody Hedlund will be joining us on Monday for an interview post.

If you haven’t already checked out her site (filled with amazing advice for writers), you can find her here.

Call for Guest Posts

I’ve had some awesome guest posts submitted in the past couple of months, and I’m still on the lookout for fresh voices.

Do you have an idea for a guest article?

Blogging Bootcamp

August 8th to 12th, I’m taking Leo Babauta’s latest blogging bootcamp, Ramp Up Your Blog: Create Courses that Sell.

I’ve shared my experience with previous bootcamps here.

I’m also a member of the A-List Blogger Club, a place where bloggers meet, learn, share their knowledge, and connect with big-names in the industry.

You can join me at the bootcamp here, or at the A-List Blogger club by clicking on the link below:

Thanks all!
